Gunta Stolzl
Gunta Stölzl (1897–1983), weaver, studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Munich. From 1919 until 1925 she studied at the Bauhaus, under Paul Klee amongst others. Later she not only taught there, but in 1927 took over full responsibility for the teaching of weaving at the school. In 1931, together with other Bauhaus artists, she founded “S.P.H.-Stoffe” [S.P.H. Fabrics]. Working in collaboration with architects, she produced furnishing fabrics and carpets.
